So I’m driving to work today and listening to the Ed Schultz Show on my local progressive station, when all of the sudden I hear Hillary Clinton start screeching…

ARE YOU WITH ME! ARE YOU WITH ME! ARE YOU WITH ME! ARE YOU WITH ME! ARE YOU WITH ME! ARE YOU WITH ME! ARE YOU WITH ME!!!

Apparently she was wigging out on some unsuspecting campaign crowd this afternoon in California.

And in case you are wondering…no I didn’t write seven times for literary effect. She actually screamed it seven times in a row.

After checking to see if the lenses in glasses were still intact, and then trying to figure out if it was a tape loop or not, I was at that moment being told by the host, “and that wasn’t a loop folks,”

Okay then. 

Wait a minute. I suddenly realized…that this could very well have been Hillary Clinton’s ‘Howard Dean’ moment! You remember the ‘Dean Scream.’ After I heard that, I called my buddy to tell him that I would be free through the election in ‘04 because my campaign commitment to Dean just ended - I thought. Of course it won’t appear for 72 hours straight in the news cycle like Dean’s little oopsy did in the ‘04 campaign, but it looks bad for Clinton nonetheless.

Surely this was an Obama supporter with a digital loop looking to paint Hillary as a loose lugnut on the campaign trail right?

Nope. It was real.

There she was in all of her ‘Old Guard Democrat’ establishment glory, trying too hard…again.  

I’ve gotta tell you - she appeared to be unglued there if only for a brief moment. Nothing has surfaced on ‘You Tube’ yet, but give it time. This is going to go over like a fart in church on the blogs by tomorrow.

I’m not sure if it’s the pressure or the frustration, but something is up I think. First the New Hampshire crying, now this.

If she can’t handle the pressure of a heated primary, then how will she do in the Oval Office? If she thinks Obama is a pain in the ass, wait until she gets a load of the Iranian delegation or has a chat with Hugo Chavez (crazies of the highest order to be sure).

But I digress - Hillary must be fishing at this point for ways to cut Obama down…any way. With the Ted Kennedy endorsement and her husband running around with his foot in his mouth, she better develop a better strategy to win delegate votes than ’screaming ‘ the message into people.

The ‘Hillary Scream’ wasn’t impressive or energizing. It only appeared as a desparate wolf crying out from a leg-iron trap - and a rabid wolf at that. 

Another bad PR day for the Clintons…

She sure ain’t no Bill on the trail, I can tell you that.
